Pohutukawa Coast

On the south-eastern side of Auckland's stunning Hauraki Gulf is the picturesque Pohutukawa Coast, which includes the historic seaside settlement of Maraetai and the seaside village of Beachlands. It's reached by an easy drive through rolling hills and countryside from Auckland city and has good ferry links at Pine Harbour to the downtown business centre. The area is a popular place to visit all year round because of its easy access to the clean, green outdoors. Keen kayakers can even explore the stunning harbour coastline on a self-guided trail, between the Omana and Waharau Regional Parks.
